The oldest known vineyard dates back to 4100 BC although wine production is thought to have stared well before. The altered conscious state that wine produces has been considered spiritual. The ancient Greeks took this to an almost religious level and the Romans carried this on. Today wine production is going strong all over the planet. Wine making techniques may have changed but the enjoyment and social aspect of taking wine remain unchanged.
