Domaine Lafond Lirac

Domaine Lafond is a family winery that has been passed down from father to son. Their mantra is simple, they want to produce the best wine possible and it all starts with the grapes and the soil they grow in. Huge worth is placed on biodiversity and organic agriculture across They have plantings across the Rhone region, including Chateauneuf du Pape and Tavel. This Lirac is exceptional. A blend of Grenache and Syrah, with a complex nose. The wines are vinified in stainless steel, then aged for six months in oak barrels to promote slight oxidative qualities, along with hints of oak and vanilla. 

On the nose, expect rich redcurrant, black plum and blackberry aromas, complimented by vanilla, toast and cedar qualities. The wine is good for drinking now and has a youthful, yet complex palate, however over time expect this wonderful wine to start developing more concentrated notes and become even more complex.
