Dr Konstantin Cabernet Franc

When you think of wines from the USA your head goes immediately to California, then maybe Oregon, then perhaps Washington State. In actual fact, every state in the USA has some form of wine production industry but they’re just not as well known as the aforementioned three. New York State, in particular the Five Finger Lakes region is becoming increasingly well known for making good quality wine.

This Cabernet Franc shows why. It is medium bodied with dry/earthy tannins which give it a great robust flavour. Notes of black cherry, cracked black pepper and slight tobacco hints from oak maturation really linger on the nose and carry through onto the palate, before lingering in the mouth fora long, strong finish.

Great to sip now but could easily be stored for a few more years to let it develop more of the oaky, tobacco notes.
