Listening Station Shiraz
This Shiraz, pays tribute to the space race of the 60’s, but more specifically, the listening stations that were planted throughout Australia in order to help Astronauts keep in touch with their teams back at base.
The grapes for ‘listening Station Shiraz’ were picked at night and crushed within an hour of picking before being sent to the fermentation tanks. The Shiraz grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled tanks maintained at 22 – 25ÂșC to avoid extracting any harsh tannins, with the fermentations pumped over to extract good colour. 20% of the final blend is barrel aged, which gives the wine added flavour and texture.
This is a soft and supple Victorian Shiraz, which gets dangerously moreish by the glass. Bright, aromatic and juicy on the nose with just a touch of meatiness and white pepper. True to the varietal. This vintage is bright, and dangerously drinkable. Like all good Shiraz, its fine, bright fruit and soft silky elegance.
