New Discoveries August Mixed Case

Our ‘New Discoveries Case’ is perfect for anyone wanting to discover wines that they may not have come across before. As wine fanatics, we love recommending new wines for people to try and fall in love with so we decided to make it as easy as possible.

Every month, we will unveil a new mixed case containing gems that you may not have heard of before. What’s more, we’ll even give you a sneaky discount on the case, so you get to try new wines and save money! Sound good? Of course it does!

August 2020 Includes:

1 x Miopasso Grillo, Sicilia DOC, 2019, 75cl, 13% RRP: £10.75

Grillo is found pretty much exclusively in Sicily and produces beautiful full-bodied white wine that’s ripe in acidity and ever so refreshing. The grapes for this particular bottle were left on the vines slightly longer than normal which has helped concentrate the flavour of the remaining juice in the grapes, adding complexity and richer flavour.

1 x Legato Inzolia Terre Siciliane IGP, 2018, 75cl, 12.5% RRP: £6.99

The Inzolia grape is an indigenous grape native to Sicily. It produces aromatic white wine that is full of lemongrass aromas and citrus fruit. It’s a zesty wine, packed full of beautiful acidity. Perfect with Mozzarella and balsamic glaze!

1 X Kalkstein Sauvignon Blanc, Qualitatswein Pfalz, 2018, 12.5%, 75cl, RRP £12.25

Kalkstein basically means limestone and the reason why we’ve put it in the title of the wine is because the type of soil that a wine grows in is such an important factor to the taste. This zesty Sauvignon Blanc is dry, packed with amazing minerality and tropical flavours such as passion fruit.

This is a must try for anyone who likes Sauvignon Blanc and wants to try something new.

1 x Domaine Dupre Macon Rouge, 2015, 12.5%, 75cl, RRP: £8.99

This wine comes from the Tournus region, right in the heart of the Maconnais, southern Burgundy.

Comprised of 100% Gamay grapes, this wine is lovely and dark in colour with red fruit aromas on the nose. Light in taste with very soft tannin, this is a beautiful wine from and best paired with cured meats.

1 x Percheron Old Vine Cinsault, 2018, 13%, 75cl, RRP: £8.75
Crushed for flavour not colour, this 40 year old unirrigated bush vine wine sucks only from the rocks underground. Bright, expressive, gently savoury on the nose and the colour of a freshly slapped arse. Along with its blushing hue, the palate rewards with fresh pomegranate flavour and acidity, savoury gamey notes, and a bright, beating heart of cherry ripe fruit. Slightly chilled with pink duck, pink lamb or carpaccio of beef, this is a beautifully defined expression of South Africa’s most achingly fashionable varietal
1 x Quinta Vista Lisboa Tinto, 2017, 13%, 75cl, RRP: £9.99
The Quinta Vista range explores and celebrates the best of the terroir that South Portugal offers by blending world renowned grape varieties with little-known, indigenous species that are native to the area.  This sumptuous red offers intense black and red fruit aromas, with hints if chocolate and vanilla. Medium bodied with a refreshing acidity and long length.
